The Koda team had a great time at the Drupal South 2017 Conference in Auckland last week. Understandably they learnt extensive amounts in the short time frame (too much to write in a short blog) and being crammed into a two-day block of information overload, all learnings will offer much guidance for Koda’s future developments.

For those not in the know Drupal South is the biggest conference for Australia and New Zealand and was held for the first time in Auckland on November 16-17

So for those who didn’t attend here is a link to show all the sessions that were presented (Drupal South 2017 Schedule) and below we have bullet pointed a few of the key sessions attended by the Koda team, that offered so much to take away.

- Drupal does so much digital work for so many high functioning businesses, the team noted this session as a real high light - Headless Drupal at scale: managing 100,000+ in-store displays for Vodafone – presented by Cameron Tod

- All speakers were talking Drupal 8 and the strong future it offers – favourite session for the team was - Build beautiful relationships in Drupal 8 using Entity Browser presented by Roland Molnar

- There are so many cool modules being developed that are so advanced compared to all other content management systems ( cms ), a session that emphasised this was - Front-end performance improvements with Drupal 8 Asset Libraries with Rikki Bochow

- Drupal's next decade - Enthusiasm for Drupal as a custom option for online development just keeps growing – fav’ session was - Future of Content: Intelligent Content with Alexar Pendashteh

- Others popular sessions included 10 tips for continuous integration with Vladimar Roudakov, sessions on robust unit testing of your code in Drupal 8 with Daniel Nitishe and Configuration Management in Drupal 8 - Panel Discussion with Dieuwe De Boer and Ben Denham.

The conference truly presented why Drupal is such a leader with Marketers, Operations and Product managers and how Drupal will maintain such a solid future.

Drupal is continuing to grow from strength to strength, and with Drupal 8’s performance and versatility as an online platform for businesses, that need to manage all aspects of web and online digital performance (beyond just a brochure site), Drupal is clearly the economic and effective leader.
