At the end of the day business needs to be sustainable, if you want to establish a long term working relationship with suppliers we need to recognise that they do need to make some profit out of the relationship.
I believe that in some respects business in New Zealand today is paying the price for the price gouging that used to take place when IT was in its infancy, the days when companies charged the world to deliver inferior solutions are gone - this is a good thing!
I do believe that in our pursuit of the best bargain, we have opened the door to the delivery of web solutions that are poor, yes they are cheap, however, when we look at the cost of remedial work to a budget built website to allow it operate the way it should, the initial bargain price becomes questionable.
Outsourced Web Development
Many web developers in Auckland and New Zealand are outsourcing the design and development of websites they have been given to build to partners in India. They are spoilt for choice, I am spammed daily with Indian based companies offering to deliver all our web design and development services for a fraction of the cost we can do it here.
