1. Foldable Phones and Tablets
This is idea probably the most likely to happen compared to the other concepts on this list as Samsung have already been talking about bringing foldable phones to life. The screen will not be able to bend but instead, have screens that pivot on a hinge to join together. We believe this idea has lots of potential as you are getting the best of both worlds, having a phone and a tablet in one, the two most commonly used household electronics!
2. The Death of Headphone Jack
When the Sony Walkman entered the market in 1979 it took off like crazy, selling 200 million units. In today's world, we have moved on to wireless headphones and earphones. Because of these coming into fashion, in 2016 Apple removed the headphone jack on the iPhone 7 and haven't looked back. Now other powerhouse phone companies seem to be following such as Samsung and Huawei. Before we know it headphones will be a thing of the past.
3. 5G Networks
Just when you thought 4g was good enough for you, especially considering you have an internet connection in places you thought would never be possible, 5G is just around the corner. 5G will allow smartphone users to browse the internet at 20 gigabits per second. That's 20 times faster than 4G.
4. Voice Assistants
Voice assistants first came about when Apple released Siri back in 2011. As the years have gone on the advancement of Siri and other voice assistants has been rapid. In 2019 we believe the advancement of the voice assistant will reach a new high. Google revealed technology that demonstrated an assistant making appointments for the user by talking with real people. This sort of Technology could be game-changing.
